“Chita Bhasm Ki Holi” or “Masan Holi” is one of the trending topics in this year's Holi.
This is probably the back-story of most of the Masan Holi albums you have seen so far. I have decided to use my Analogue Camera to capture an auspicious event in Manikarnika Ghat.
I used one roll to capture this event, more preciously 30 shots. As I know I have a limited number of shots to click so I wanted to make a series of my experience on this event.
The main objective of my work was to portray a time span of the event. So considering the span, I have captured a couple of hours.
The crowd was electrifying and was eagerly waiting for the event to start. It started approximately 11 a.m. It was like a religious trance party, where thousands of people are jumping and dancing and playing holi with colors, with each other. The experience itself was amazing. Few people also have a place even on the fence to get an aerial view of the event. The local authorities and police have played a significant role in managing such a huge crowd. What I liked most, each and everyone was concerned about others safety and tried to help each other to witness this spectacular event.
I used one roll of EKTAR 100 (color film) in order to capture this event and a 50mm lens.
